There is a moderate presence of carbonation, with soft bubbles and a long lasting carbonation effect across the palate. There is a heavy mouthfeel and a slightly bitter aftertaste, whilst the presence of bicarbonates aids digestion.

One of the few naturally carbonated mineral waters, Ferrarelle emerges at 15°C having mixed with carbon dioxide from Mount Vesuvius, some 40 miles away. Ferrarelle’s source is said to have been visited by Hannibal’s army.
